One Person Missing After Early Morning House Fire

Oskaloosa firefighters arrived at the scene of this house fire just before 4am Thursday.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – One occupant escaped and another is unaccounted for after fire swept through a home located at 401 North A Street.

Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived on the scene, after the call came in at 3:49 am. Oskaloosa Fire was on scene by 3:52 am Thursday morning.

No names have been released at this time by authorities.

No cause has yet been determined for the fire.

Oskaloosa Fire, along with New Sharon Fire, Oskaloosa Police, Mahaska County Sheriffs Dept. and Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services all responded.
