Noise complaint leads to multiple citations

A noise complaint lead to the citation of at least 16 persons Saturday night. Officers arrived to 507 1st Ave East to a large party with multiple underage drinkers. The Oskaloosa Police with an assist by the Mahaska Sheriff’s Department for nearly an hour as people were removed from closets and other crawl places in the house.

The round-up and questioning of the student age crowd took nearly an hour. With so many in attendance dash cams were put into service to get names and other information to help expedite the process. Most were cited and will be paying a $330.00 fine in connection with the incident. Possible penalties under Iowa code are, Fine up to $500.00, suspension of drivers license, mandatory drug and alcohol awareness classes or probation, community service.
