NO. 15 WARRIORS DROP OPENER AT BLUE DRAGON CLASSIC

Hutchinson, KS – No. 15 Indian Hills Volleyball battled in its opening match of the Blue Dragon Classic to Hutchinson Community College (KS) on Thursday night, falling 3-1 to the host Blue Dragons. Indian Hills falls to 5-5 on the year.
In four tightly contested sets, the Warriors came up on the wrong end of the box score Thursday night as Hutchinson squeezed out a victory. The Warriors took set one 25-23, but dropped the next three sets, 26-24, 25-23, and 27-5 to fall at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
Freshman Alisha Perez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/IMG Academy), this week’s Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, led the offense with 11 kills on the night.
Freshman Jovi Evans (Kalona, IA/Mid-Prairie) put together a strong all around performance with seven kills, 18 digs, and a block assist for the Warriors. Fellow freshman Kanade Yamagishi (Osaka, Japan/Kochi Chuo), this week’s ICCAC DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, added 18 digs and a pair of service aces for the Warriors.
Indian Hills returns to action at the Blue Dragon Classic on Friday with a pair of nationally ranked matches. The Warriors will take on No. 8 ranked Trinity Valley Community College (TX) at 1:00 PM before closing out play at the Blue Dragon Classic vs. No. 16 ranked Panola College (TX) at 5:00 PM.
