New Sharon youth wins Grand Champion

Blake winning Grand Champion FFA Show at the Iowa State Fair

Blake Lanphier, son of Allen Lanphier of Oskaloosa and Jodi and Brian Pollpeter of New Sharon Iowa has been showing goats in the FFA and is President of the North Mahaska FFA. This year has turned out to be a one of the best.

It started out good, and has just gotten better. Blakes wether “Eye Candy” won Grand Champion at Lincoln Nebraska’s Super Fair. Blake the next weekend took Grand Champion Market Wether at the FFA show at the Iowa State Fair, scoring not only the title but the buckle. (Picture left of FFA Officer presenting the awards)

The next day, August 22, 2010 Blake turns around and wins the Open at the Iowa State Fair with his Grand Champion wether Eye Candy. Blake has had a great year, racking up an impressive 8 Grand Champions and 6 Reserve Champion awards this year.
