Oskaloosa–Diego Navarro (Fr., Madrid, Spain, Mechanical Engineering) was a magnet for the back of the net last week and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

Navarro earned his first career laurel by guiding William Penn to wins over #18 Midland Tuesday and Evangel Saturday.

The freshman, who leads the Statesmen with seven goals and 14 points, scored all three goals against Midland and then tacked on one more versus Evangel. The Midland hat trick was the first for WPU since last October.

He currently ranks 14th in the NAIA in goals and 27th in points; he is also third nationally with three game-winning goals

The award is the team’s first of the year.
