Naig Visits Frisian Farms
Leighton, Iowa – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig stopped by one of those Mahaska County treasures in Frisian Farms this past week.
Naig who was appointed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to fill the term of Bill Northey who was appointed to a position within the Department of Ag in Washington D.C.
Naig said his stop was learning more about cheese making. “I’m excited to learn about what goes on here. We love to highlight operations like this, and folks like this. This is value-added agriculture.”
Naig said operations like Frisian Farms are an increasingly important part of Iowa agriculture. “It adds value to our dairy industry here in the state.”
