Munoz Picked for POW Award
Oskaloosa–Austin Munoz (Sr., Harrisville, Utah, Sports Management) notched his second shutout of the season and his efforts helped him to be named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.
Munoz garnered his second career laurel (first this year) after leading the Statesmen (3-2) to a 2-0 victory over St. Ambrose last Saturday.
In the win, the senior tallied two saves for his second shutout of 2019. For the year, Munoz is 3-1 with a 1.01 Goals Against Average. He has recorded 14 saves this fall.
The award is the first of the year for WPU.
