Multi-Vehicle Crash Sends Three To The Hospital

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A 2002 Ford pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Dalton James Joseph Garcia of Bussey, Iowa, and a 2012 Nissan driven by 51-year-old Denise LuAnn Allgood of Oskaloosa, Iowa were westbound on Highway 92 approximately 4 miles west of Oskaloosa at 7:48 p.m.

According to the accident report by the Iowa State Patrol, The pickup truck driven by Garcia rear-ended the Nissan driven by Allgood. This caused both vehicles to cross the center line into the path of a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 41-year-old Jeffery Kenneth Hartzell of Bellevue, Nebraska, who was traveling eastbound on Highway 92.

The Ford and the Nissan came to rest along the north ditch, while the tractor-trailer came to rest in the south ditch.

One person was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital, while two others were transported to Mahaska Health Partnership.

The report says the accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.

Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services was assisted by Oskaloosa Fire, Oskaloosa Police, Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Mahaska County Emergency Management, Mahaska County Sheriff’s Reserve, Mahaska County Sheriff’s Posse, Mahaska County 911 Dispatch, and the Iowa DOT.
