Oskaloosa–Ashley Miller (Sr., Kalona, Iowa, Exercise Science) and Corrin Lepper (Fr., Jefferson, Mo., Biology) ended productive 2018 seasons with postseason accolades as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference volleyball teams were announced Wednesday.

Miller and Lepper were both named third-team all-league performers, joining 12 other individuals on the squad. An additional 40 individuals garnered either first-team (14), second-team (14), or honorable-mention (12) recognition for a total of 52 honorees.

While Lepper’s award is her first, Miller concludes one of the most outstanding careers in William Penn history with her third nod. She is just the sixth player in program history to claim at least three laurels.

The duo assisted the Statesmen to a 19-15 record (6-12 Heart), the highest win total since 2012.

Lepper finished her freshman campaign with 274 kills (2.19 per set) and a .250 attack percentage. She also tallied 101 blocks (19 solos, 82 assists) and 27 digs.

The freshman posted 11 double-digit kill outings, including a high of 18, while also producing a top defensive effort of seven blocks.

At the timing of this release, Lepper ranks ninth in the Heart in total blocks, 10th in blocks per set (0.8), and 11th in attack percentage.

Miller’s third award came after posting 728 digs (5.82 per set) in addition to 38 aces and 62 assists. The senior produced 29 double-digit dig outings, including a high of 44; she managed six matches with at least 30 digs. Her dig tally ranks sixth on William Penn’s all-time single-season list, while her dig average is fourth-best all-time.

As of Wednesday, Miller ranks second in the league in both digs and digs per set as well as sixth in aces.

Miller’s career was highlighted by 2,396 digs (5.05 per set); both marks are second-most ever at WPU. She also wrapped things up with 114 aces (one shy of being in the top 10) as well as 227 assists.

Jane Kickham of Central Methodist was named Heart Player of the Year, while Grand View swept the remaining awards. The Vikings took the Attacker (Kelsey Redmond), Setter (Trystin Luneckas), Defender (Jordyn Rittman), Coach (Tina Carter), and Assistant Coach (Makani Cantor) laurels.
