Mildred “Cleo” Johnsen, age 71, of Copperas Cove, Texas, formerly of Eddyville, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Cleo was born June 13, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Walter Clyde and Wanda Mae Edwards Watts.

Cleo graduated from Oskaloosa High School “Class of 1964.”

On March 28th, 1967, Cleo and Marlin Johnsen were united in marriage. They were blessed with two children: Sandra Kay and James Carl. Their marriage later dissolved in 1981.

Cleo and her children moved to Eddyville in 1980. She moved to Copperas Cove, Texas to be with her son in 2007. While living in Texas she volunteered at Fort Hood military base helping soldiers.

Cleo is survived by her two children: Sandy (& Tim) Campbell of Carlisle and Jim Johnson of Texas; two grandsons: Dominick and Dylan of Carlisle; three sisters: Nadine Garrett of Marion, Gail Hall of Nevada, and Delores (John R) Johnson of Eddyville; one brother, Darrell Watts of Granger; and many nieces and nephews.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Robert “Bob” Watts and Dan Watts; and one baby sister, Mary Belle.

Cleo’s wishes were to be cremated. The Eddyville Funeral Chapel is helping Cleo’s family with services.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel in Eddyville, Iowa.
