Oskaloosa. Mike McDougall, 62, of Oskaloosa died at the Mahaska Hospice Serenity House on Sunday, September 26, 2010. He was born on Wednesday, December 24, 1947, in Oskaloosa, the son of Carlton “Mac” and Ruth M. Short McDougall. He graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1966. On December 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Debbie Reynolds at Mt. Pleasant; after 23 years of marriage they divorced but remained close friends. Following school he managed several of the old Little Duffer locations for many years. He then became a partner at Toc’s Restaurant in Fairfield for 3 years. He then moved back to Oskaloosa and went to work at Clow Valve where he worked in management for 35 years; lastly as a scheduler. He enjoyed trips to Prairie Meadows, attending and watching Iowa Hawkeye athletic events and spending time with his grandchildren. He always looked forward to family events.

His family includes 2 sons: Mark (& Trisha Garman) McDougall and Chris (& Amy) McDougall all of Oskaloosa; 4 grandchildren: Sydney, Marcus, Anniston and Ashlyn McDougall; a sister: Diana (& Dennis) Hopes of Keota; 3 nieces, several cousins and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and 2 half brothers: Don and Pat McDougall.

Funeral services for Mike McDougall will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Reverend Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be in Garrett Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa and the family will be at the funeral home from 6 – 8 pm to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Mahaska Hospice Serenity House.
