MICHEL REACHES MILESTONE AS WARRIORS ROLL
September 14, 2026Mattoon, IL – Indian Hills Volleyball Head Coach Lyndsey Michel reached another milestone in her illustrious career with the Warriors, collecting her 400th career victory after sweeping through the Laker Invitational over the weekend. Indian Hills posted a 3-0 mark, dropping just one set along the way.
The winningest coach in program history, Michel notched her 400th career victory at the helm of the Indian Hills Volleyball program with a 3-0 win over Wabash Valley College (IL) on Friday afternoon. The Warriors also secured a 3-1 victory over host Lake Land Community College (IL) and a 3-0 sweep over Eastern Florida State College.
In total, Michel has collected 435 coaching victories that include 15 seasons with the Warriors and two at Ellsworth Community College. Michel is a five-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Coach of the Year while leading the program to five trips to the national tournament and five NJCAA Midwest District Championships, including four in a row.
After dropping three straight matches heading into last week, the Warriors have now rattled off four consecutive victories. Sophomore Ayana Ito (Tokyo, Japan/Fujimura) led the charge for the Warriors on the opening day of the Laker Invitational, putting home a total of 20 kills.
Freshman Ki Schachle (Wasilla, AK/Wasilla) put together her most dominant showing of the year with a season-high 12 kills in the finale vs. Wabash Valley.
Indian Hills will welcome an 11-day layoff before heading to Hillsboro, MO on Tuesday night to take on Jefferson College (MO) at 5:30 PM.
