Oskaloosa, Iowa – Combining a good time with a good cause is usually a success. From the smiles on bowlers faces Friday night, March 1st, the night was successful.

The MCRF held its 3rd annual bowling tournament at Mahaska Bowl Friday night. The funds generated go towards the Lacey Complex. “What I love about it, is all the volunteer help we get.” MCRF Executive Director Sherry Vavra said. She was excited to see, “How many community members come out for it.”

The 8 persons that make up the promotions and fundraising committees at MCRF helped to plan the Friday event, which included a silent auction. MCRF also operates on many private donations and volunteer efforts during the year.

“It’s a good time. They play. It’s a tournament,” Where Vavra says the winning team gets to claim the traveling trophy. “That’s a coveted trophy,” Vavra says smiling.

If you’re interested in participating in next year’s tournament, contact the MCRF at 641.672.2499.
