Bring your family and friends out to the Environmental Learning Center on Saturday, March 30 from 10:00 – 11:00 am for the Annual Maple Syrup Festival. Laura DeCook, the Mahaska County Conservation Board naturalist, will demonstrate and explain how to tap trees and boil it to make maple syrup. Please note: This event has been moved to the ELC due to flooding in the area sap is collected for our event. Even with this change, the demonstration will be very informative and tasty. Bring your appetites for fresh maple syrup on ice cream! This event is free and intended for all ages. Come on out for the fun – no reservations are needed.

The Environmental Learning Center is located at 2342 Hwy. 92 East, Oskaloosa, IA. Parking will be available on the south side of the building and enter in the lower level doors behind the building. If you have questions, please call MCCB at (641)673-9327 ext. 2.
