Mahaska YMCA offers S.P.O.R.T.S.

K to 2nd graders enjoy their first day of S.P.O.R.T.S at the Mahaska YMCA

The Mahaska County YMCA played host to Camp S.P.O.R.T.S. (Sports, Practice, Opportunities, Regulation, Teamwork and Skills) starting March 14th and continuing until March 16th.

Mahaska County 4-H and Kids’ Corner Child Care collaborated in the event for children Kindergarten to 6th grade.

Kindergarten to 2nd graders meet from 9:00 a.m. to Noon each day with the 3rd to 6th graders meeting from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each of the 3 days with a cost of $10.00 each day.

Those participating with the 4-H and YMCA staff will be learning basic sports activities such as passing, catching, dribbling and serving. Also, instruction on how to use exercise equipment and stretching techniques.
