Mahaska Health Partnership Auxiliary Hosts Purse Sale Nov. 7th and 8th

Mahaska Health Partnership

Oskaloosa – The Mahaska Health Partnership Auxiliary is hosting a purse sale as a fundraising project on Monday, Nov. 7 from 3 to 7 pm and Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Cedar Bluff Learning Center (Entrance # 3), on the MHP Campus in Oskaloosa.

According to MHP Auxiliary Gift Shop Manager Dorothy Vos, the fundraising company the Auxiliary is teaming with, “Purses 4 Nurses,” only works with hospitals. “There will be more than 150 handbags to choose from,” Vos said. “These purses are purchased from legitimate wholesales in New York. They do not sell any knock-offs. Other items offered are wallets, scarves and other accessories.”

According to Vos, there will be purses in a wide range of prices, from $24.95 to $49.95 per bag. “This event was very popular last spring so we’re excited to bring it back to the community. Our Auxiliary receives 20% on each purse sold.”

The MHP Auxiliary is a volunteer organization with the purpose of helping to promote and advance the welfare of MHP and its mission statement. The Auxiliary was formed in 1955 and has provided support to the hospital through money raised by operating the Snack Bar/Gift Shop and holding fundraisers.

Vos said that through the years, the Auxiliary has helped purchase much needed medical equipment and supported various hospital programs that benefit the community. “We do our best to make your visit at the hospital as comfortable as possible,” Vos said.
