Oskaloosa, December 29, 2011 – The Mahaska County Y Dolphins Swim Team continues to make waves this season, with 75 team members from the area competing in 2011-2012. After hosting its first home meet of the season on December 3, the Dolphins welcomed teams from the Riverfront YMCA (Des Moines) and Southern Prairie YMCA (Creston) on December 17. With four meets completed before the holidays, the Dolphins Swim Team is gearing up for the remainder of the swim season with events at the Waukee YMCA on January 7, the Ottumwa YMCA on January 14, a home meet at the Mahaska County Y on January 28, and the Stoney Point YMCA in Cedar Rapids on February 4. The January 28 home meet will be the last home event of the year, with teams from the Centerville, Washington, Newton and Marion YMCAs all making the trip to Oskaloosa, Iowa.

The Dolphins Swim Team wishes everyone a happy new year, and hopes to see continued support throughout the season. Dolphins Head Coach Janet Reese said, “This year’s Dolphins have been very dedicated and determined to succeed. We anticipate a great event on January 28, and we hope that Dolphin fans can pack the Y that Saturday!”

As a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y works to ensure everyone has an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. This philosophy drives the Mahaska County YMCA’s commitment to help children and adults experience the joy and benefits of aquatics programming.
