Local 4-H & FFA Youth Raising Funds

Mahaska County 4-H and FFA members are gearing up for their annual fundraiser, which will be held on Friday, April 26th, starting at 6:00 p.m. in Bradbury Hall at Nelson Pioneer Farm. This year’s event includes a meal consisting of pulled pork, grilled chicken breast, cheesy hash browns, seasoned green beans, and a dessert catered by Melody’s Kitchen. A fun and unique $1 Buck Plucker Auction will take place after the meal and several items have been donated, including a framed handcrafted leather painting, movie bundles, a 4-H fire pit basket, an oak display case, a specialty cake from Stephanie’s Signature Cakes, other homemade goods, and more! Following the auction will be a Royce Johns concert. Royce is sure to please with his distinct style of music that spans genres and generations.

Tickets are available at the Mahaska County ISU Extension and Outreach office at 212 North I Street in Oskaloosa and on Eventbrite. Tickets are $20.00 for adults and kids 12 & under are $10.00 (2 & under are free). Get your tickets now because the ticket price increases to $30.00 at the door.

All proceeds from this event will help to cover the cost of 4-H & FFA judges’ fees, member premiums, and ribbons, trophies, & awards for the Southern Iowa Fair. The 4-H & FFA Youth Shows Fair Fund Campaign is currently underway. To support this cause, please contact Amy Brainard at 641-673-5841 ext. 28 or email vermeerA@iastate.edu.
