Lindeque Receives Honorable Mention

Oskaloosa–Byron Lindeque (Jr., Boksburg, South Africa, Public Accounting) finished a productive season by collecting some league hardware as the 2013-2014 all-Midwest Collegiate Conference men’s golf teams were announced today.

Lindeque was named to the seven-person honorable-mention squad, while the MCC’s top five players, as voted on by the coaches, were named to the first team.

Ben Wollam of Grand View was named MCC Player of the Year, while Jay Monahan of GVU took home Newcomer of the Year laurels. Head Coach Chris Winkel made it a clean sweep for the Vikings as he was tabbed as MCC Coach of the Year.

Lindeque owned a team-best 78.7 stroke average over 17 rounds of competition. The junior managed ten rounds in the 70s, including a season-low 73. He placed in the top ten three times (ten events), highlighted by tying for fifth twice.
