Four years ago, I campaigned for Tom Walling for city council. I was convinced that Tom would be a voice for an improved Oskaloosa, while practicing fiscal responsibility with our tax dollars. I have not been disappointed.

Since Tom took office, Green Street is hard-surfaced with sanitary and storm sewer, South 7th Street and Highway 432 have been re-surfaced, repaving of C Avenue East and North 3rd Street is in progress, and an additional 220 blocks of roadways have had surface improvements. In addition, sanitary sewer on the city’s west side has been extended to facilitate future growth.

While getting all of this work completed, property taxes on average have been REDUCED by 8.3%.

Oskaloosa is fortunate to have a public servant like Tom making rational choices that move our city forward while keeping the taxpayer in mind. I hope you will join me in voting to return him to the city council on November 5th.
