To All Oskaloosa City Residence and City Council Candidates,

The Election for Oskaloosa City Council will be held on November 5, 2013. You can even vote now by obtaining and absentee ballot. However before you do, please take the time to research and to ask (for yourself…please do not just take what you hear from your neighbor or read on Facebook as fact) about the stance of these candidates in regards to the many important issues.

One issue near and dear to The Cellar Peanut Pub’s heart is the issue of liquor licenses for law abiding businesses.

We like to deal with facts and one fact that we know is that The Cellar Peanut Pub personally has a history with Jimmy Carter, on record in his prior years as a member of the City Council of voting “no” to the renewal of each and every liquor license that we applied for. We would like to know what Jimmy’s reasoning for this was. We would also like to find out what his current stance is as well as the others running for City Council, in regards to liquor licenses and outdoor events involving the sale of alcohol (of course in a law abiding manor).

Also, to clarify rumors…we have heard that Mr. Carter has declared that if he is voted into the Oskaloosa City Council for this term, that he will eliminate Friday After 5. Is this true Jimmy Carter? If so, why?

Denny Doud, Jimmy Cater, Shaun Smith, Jennifer Doland, Lauren McMahan, Tom Walling, Scottie Moore, Doug Yates, Aaron Ver Steeg, Wyatt Russell, Dave Krutzfeldt, and David Allgood…where do you stand on these issues?

Sincerely,

Marty Duffy
Owner – The Cellar Peanut Pub
