Lavina Ann Carr, age 50, of Albia, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lavina was born on April 19, 1968, to Ottis Keith and Erma Rose (Harnden) Conner at her grandmother’s home in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Lavinia attended Albia High School, graduating with the class of 1987.
In 1993, she was united in marriage to Jeremy Carr. To this union 3 children were born, Sherry, Amber, and Jennifer.
Lavina worked for the Albia Newspaper Office, delivering newspapers and shoppers for many years.
She was a very generous person who often volunteered rides for family and friends and was always willing to help people in any way that she could.
Lavina enjoyed doing puzzle books and games, especially the coloring game Sandbox and Animal Crossing. Above all, Lavina enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Lavina is survived by her children: Amber (& Danny Sechrest) Carr and Sherry (& Cory) Paris; her ex-husband, Jeremy Carr; and her siblings: Keith Conner, Crystal Conner, Susie (& Donald) Storm, Terri Bijan and David (& Becky) Conner; and the rest of the Wisconsin family. Lavina is also survived by a special niece, Autumn; a special nephew, Otis; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and her 4 legged friends: Faith and Sammy; and Amber’s dog, Rocky, that Lavina called her grandson.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer May Carr; her parents, Ottis and Erma Conner; a brother, Larry Conner; and her grandmother, Susie Louise.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Lavina’s family present to meet and greet family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Brian Harris officiating.
Burial will follow services at the Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
An open memorial has been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
