Larry Warren Robertson, 58, of New Sharon, died unexpectedly at his home in New Sharon on Thursday, October 29, 2020. He was born September 4, 1962, in Oskaloosa, the son of Lewis Robertson and Maxine McKee.

Larry attended Oskaloosa and North Mahaska Schools.

Following school, he worked at Super Value Grocery Store in Oskaloosa. Larry served 10 years in the National Guard. Larry worked for various packing plants around the state of Iowa. He worked for a short time at Pella Corporation. Last he did janitorial work in Pella and Des Moines. He retired due to ill health in 2015.

On December 13, 1996, he was united in marriage to Laura Brink at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa.

Larry was an avid Chicago Bears Fan. He loved working on cars, especially old cars, Mustangs and ’57 Chevys always caught his eye. He always looked forward to cookouts with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

His family includes his wife of over 23 years, Laura Robertson of New Sharon; four children: Heather Robertson (& Rob Sullivan) of Pella, Shawn (& Lacey) Robertson of Newton, Kelsey (& Terry) Seronko of Boone, and Ashly (& Greg) Davis of Albia; fourteen grandchildren: Tayla, Anna, Axl, Joselyn, Kobe, Zayla, Emri, Aubrey, Lexi, Paisley, Gunner, Madilynn, Niki, and Witten; a brother, Rick Robertson of Urbandale; a sister, Debra Hernandez of Ohio; his father and mother in law, Ken and Lavonne Brink of Oskaloosa; two brothers in law, Dustin (& Ashley) Brink and Kendall Brink all of Oskaloosa; nieces and nephews, Sheena (& Wolf) Vanderpool, J.D. (& Joleen) Robertson, Anna Hernandez, Stephan Hernandez, Rileigh Brink, and Tessa Brink; and a great nephew, Brandon Robertson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Vicki Sue Gordy, and a grandson, Anthony Sullivan.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Don Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in the Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
The funeral service will be live streamed at the funeral home’s YouTube Channel for those wishing to support the family from a distance.
Visitation with the family present will be held from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Friday.
