Larry Kuntz, 84, of Sun City Center, Florida and formerly of Oskaloosa passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at The Palms Rehab Center in Sun City Center. Larry Leroy Kuntz, son of William and Velda Ione (Kinkade) Kuntz, was born December 6, 1934, in What Cheer, Iowa.

Larry was a 1953 graduate of What Cheer High School and then attended William Penn College.

Larry served in the National Guard from 1953 to 1960 and then enlisted in the Army and served from 1960 to 1963.

Following his discharge, Larry settled in California where he worked as a policeman and a flight instructor.

While living in California, he married Sandra Bivon, and to that union his son, Curtiss was born.

The family moved to Iowa in 1968, where he purchased land to a farm near his father, William P. Kuntz, of Sigourney. After his divorce from Sandra, he moved to Oskaloosa. Larry purchased South 7th Street Grocery, and in 1977, he purchased Stonehenge Supper Club. Later, Larry was hired by the U.S. Postal Service; he worked for the post office in Kansas, Des Moines and Oskaloosa until his retirement in 1998. While working for the post office, Larry started Stow-it-Storage units, which he managed until his retirement when he moved to Florida.

Larry was an avid golfer, and he realized his dream when he purchased a condominium on a golf course in Sun City Center, Florida.

Larry’s family includes his three sons: Curtiss Kuntz of Jacksonville FL, Dino Bivona of Florida, and Robin Bivona of California; and his brother, Bill Kuntz of Sigourney.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim.

Memorial services for Larry will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning, May 11, 2019, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of the Good News Chapel officiating.
Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery near New Sharon.
Military Honors will be performed by the Oskaloosa Honor Guard.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
