Larry Hunolt, 58, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born August 1, 1960, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of John and Dorothy Sanders Hunolt.
Larry grew up and attended school in Oskaloosa.
In October of 1982 he was united in marriage to Tammie Minear in Oskaloosa. Larry and Tammie later divorced.
Larry received his welding certificate and was a lifelong welder. He started working at PAMCO in Oskaloosa before getting hired on at Vermeer. He was currently employed at Weiler in Knoxville.
Larry enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, shooting guns, being outdoors and traveling a good gravel road with a cold beer. He was a hot sauce connoisseur and a philosopher. Larry’s real joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends.
His family includes his children: Sara Moyes of Mt. Pleasant, Alisha (& Chris) Iserman of Mt. Pleasant, Mike Fisher of Oskaloosa and Kyle Hunolt of New Sharon; his grandchildren: Adilynn (Ritalin), Arya (Are ya hungry), Phoenix (Albuquerque), Lucca (Lucca Brasi), Trayton (Silly head) and Trevin (Bucket head); a great grandchild, Nicholas (Thwack); two brothers, Mick Hunolt of Oskaloosa and Tom (& Seta) Hunolt of Richland; five sisters: Ruth (& Steve) Baker of Birmingham, Sue Maddox of Omaha, Nebraska; Deb (& Randy) Hunt of Fairfield, Mary (& Max) Hunt of Grinnell and Kate (& Vincent Haydon) Wolvers of Newton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tim ; and a nephew, Josh Hunolt.
A Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 4:30 PM at his sons home located at 702 East Depot St. in New Sharon, with Pastor Mike Sereg officiating. Arrangements are by the Bates Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will begin Thursday, April 18, 2019, after 12:00 PM in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives.
A memorial has been established in Larry’s name.
