Kid’s Corner visits Mahaska Health Partnership
Oskaloosa – The 3 and 4 year old class of Kid’s Corner Preschool enjoyed a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the inner-workings of Mahaska Health Partnership Laboratory, Radiology and Emergency Services. The laboratory explained all the ways to analyze blood and showed them what germs can do if they do not practice good hand washing. In Radiology, the kids saw many X-ray images of various bones and learned that having an X-ray is not scary. Finally, they toured the ambulance and learned how paramedics help people on their way to the hospital. Shown demonstrating how a pulse oximeter works is MHP Paramedic Sam Maas and Kid’s Corner Preschool Student Lillian Waite. Also pictured, from left, are Claire McKee and Isabelle Haines. If you are interested in scheduling a tour for your class or civic group, contact MHP PR/Marketing at 672-3240.
