Kenny Keller, 78 of Deep River passed away suddenly Thursday morning, October 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Kenneth Ray Keller, the son of Phillip and Betty (Cain) Keller, was born on September 17, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa.

He graduated from Deep River High School in 1958 and received his Bachelor of Business Degree from Simpson College in 1962.

Kenny enlisted with the United States Coast Guard in 1964 and was stationed in St. Louis.

While in the service, Kenny was united in marriage to Bonnie Carlson in St. Louis, MO. To this union three children were born, Nancy, Todd and a still born boy.

After he was honorably discharged, Kenny returned to Deep River and farmed.

Kenny played fast pitch softball for several years and had the opportunity to play with this father and his son, Todd. Kenny was an avid Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren with their activities at South Tama High School.

Kenny was a member of the Deep River Christian Church and the Morrison-Schrader American Legion Post No. 296 in Deep River.

His memory will be honored by his life partner, Bonnie Keller of Deep River; his daughter, Nancy Keller of Deep River; two grandchildren, Brooke Keller and Blake Keller, both of Toledo; a daughter-in-law, Jolene Keller of Toledo; a brother, Joe (& Val) Keller of Deep River; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (& Linda) Wallace of Montezuma; nieces and nephews: Marissa Keller, Austin Keller, Matt Wallace, and Kristi (& Ric) Chaney; a great niece, Jessica (& Ryan) Verwers; and many friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Todd Keller; and his sister, Joanie Wallace.

As was his wish, his body has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday evening, October 21, 2018 at the Deep River Community Center with supper being served.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deep River Christian Church or the Deep River Fire Department.
