Kathy Sinclair, 64, of Pella and formerly of Newton and Oskaloosa, died Monday, November 5, 2018, at the Pella Regional Health Center E.R. She was born December 30, 1953, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Aca and Marcella Wolf Malloy. She was the youngest of twelve children.

Kathy graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1972. She continued her education at William Penn University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

On December 7, 1974, she was united in marriage to Randy Sinclair at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa.

Early on Kathy stayed home with her children. When they were both in school, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Oskaloosa School System for several years. She later worked as the Director for the Senior Citizen Center in Mahaska County. She was the secretary for the Mahaska County Board of Supervisors for a few years. When she and Randy moved to Newton, she worked at Newton Manufacturing. Last they moved to Pella and Kathy worked at Simple Treasures, retiring from there in December of 2017.

Kathy was very talented at making jewelry with semi-precious gems. She and Randy traveled all over the mid-west setting up at art shows to sell her jewelry.

Kathy was a member of Third Church in Pella where she was active in prayer ministry and on the Crisis Care Team. Kathy had a lifelong deep-rooted Faith in Jesus Christ, she was a prayer warrior for her family, friends, church, and anyone in need.

She and Randy also volunteered many hours at The Well in Pella and looked forward to helping with the Getting Ahead Program.
She was a member of the Pella Business Women and was active during Tulip Time in the Dutch Market.

Her family includes her husband, Randy Sinclair of Pella; two children: Chad (& Tabitha) Sinclair of Montezuma and Sarah (& Alex) Greazel of Clive; four grandchildren: Blake, Cade, Geneva, and Violet; three sisters: Barbara Hastings of Amana, Phyllis Allgood of Wisconsin, and Marcia Michelson of Florida; two brothers: Jerry Malloy of Florida and Dale (& Sally) Malloy of Oskaloosa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents in law, Kenneth & Lena Sinclair; 3 sisters: Jean DeJong, Joan Hodson and JoAnn Malloy; 3 brothers: Donald, Jack and Kenneth Malloy; and a brother-in-law, Albert Sinclair.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Third Church at Pella with Reverend Kevin Korver and Phil DeBoef officiating.
As was Kathy’s wish her body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Wednesday after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives.
