Kathleen Wright Gorsuch, 84 of Montezuma passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Kathleen Jane Wright Gorsuch, the daughter of Carl and Catherine (McGimpsey) Shifflett, was born on April 29, 1934 near Deep River, Iowa.

Kathleen attended country school near Deep River before graduating from Deep River High School. Kathleen played basketball for Deep River and had the opportunity to play in the state tournament placing 4th. Kathleen received her degree from AIB in Des Moines and also played basketball while attending school.

On January 5, 1991, Kathleen was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Gorsuch.

Kathleen worked 25 years at Montezuma State bank. She also worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and Grinnell College.

Kathleen was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She was also an avid gardener and was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Ken Club.

She is survived by: her son, Steve (& Brenda) Wright of Montezuma; daughter, Joleen (& Ben) Willardsen of Salt Lake City, UT; stepdaughter, Nancy Gorsuch and husband David Isch; her grandchildren: Brett (& Melissa) Wright of Malcom, Nick Wright of San Diego, CA, Alexandria Willardsen, of Salt Lake, City, UT, Isabella Willardsen of Salt Lake City, UT, Daniel Isch of Oakland, CA, Robert Gorsuch, Kristie Diffor, and Angela Widner; two great grandsons, Tanner Wright and Tucker Wright; brother-in-law, Dr. Keith Cogley of Colfax; nephews: Shawn Cogley of Colfax, Dr. Patrick (& Jennifer) Cogley of Grinnell and Brian (& Angie) Cogley of Colfax; nieces: Kelly Cogley of Mingo, Megan (& Mel) Morrissey of Colfax, Brenda (& John) Probasco of Moulton and Marna (& Brant) Fox of Colfax; step daughter-in-law, Kathy Gorsuch; and many other relatives and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, John J. Gorsuch in August 2018; twin sister, Caroleen Cogley; a nephew, Collin Cogley; and step son, David Gorsuch.

As was her wish, her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, January, 10, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
