Kay Brooke, 74, of Springdale, Arkansas passed away Wednesday morning, October 10, 2018, at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale, AR.
Karen Kay Brooke, daughter of Evan James and Vida Allene (Thomas) Brooke, was born May 13, 1944, in Oskaloosa Iowa.

She grew up in Brookfield, Missouri where she attended elementary school and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family later moved to Ft. Madison, Iowa where Kay graduated from Ft. Madison High School in 1962.

Following her education, Kay began her long career as cashier in grocery stores. She resided in Springdale since 1974 and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tontitown, AR. Her last employment was with Harps Grocery Store, where she worked for 22 years.

Kay was an avid reader of Amish novels and she loved her pets.

Kay is survived by her family, Gary and Patricia Brooke of Mountain Home, Arkansas; a niece, Amanda Nichols of Jackson, Mississippi; two nephews: Kevan Brooke of Clarksville, AR and Gregory Brooke of Hot Springs, AR; and her dear friends: the Miguel and Gloria Salgado family of Springdale, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Deacon Lowell Van Wyk officiating.
A visitation will be held at Langkamp Funeral Chapel from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., at which a procession will leave for the cemetery.
