Indians Tie For 7th At State
by Coach Bret Foster
The boys did great and I’m very proud of them. They had an awesome season and kept improving. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
The team tied for 7th place in the state. Hogan Rockhold was our top finisher, tied for 8th. The whole team did great and trust me when I say they were ready to compete today or tomorrow or really anytime if they had been given the chance.
After day 1 at Fort Dodge, the team was tied for 7th place, shooting their season’s best 319. They are just two shots out of 4th place so the scores are very bunched up in the middle of the pack.
Hogan Rockhold led the way with a steady round, shooting 75 (+3). He’s currently in a tie for 8th place.
Noah Van Veldhuizen shot his season’s best with an 80, avoiding the big mistakes today.
Austin Hafner had a disastrous start, finding himself +11 thru 7 holes. He went -2 on the last 11 holes to shoot an 81. Great, gutsy performance by Austin.
Joe Glasgow shot his career-best 83 today as well. He picked a great time to start reaching his potential!
Carter Parks play was better than his score indicated with an 86. A couple of decisions and some better putting could have put him a few shots lower.
Lucas Bunnell improves by a ton from last year and plans to make big improvements
