Indians Season Comes To An End In First-Round Game

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Indians made their way to the state playoffs for the second consecutive year, only to be defeated in the first round for the second year in a row.

The Indians had two scores on the evening, with the first coming in the form of an Aaron Blom field goal from 32 yards out with 10:23 remaining in the 2nd quarter, and Xavier was up on the Indians 7-3 at that point.

The second score for the Indians came on a Casey Hill carry with 6:08 remaining in the fourth quarter, but Xavier was well in command of the game at that point, and lead the Indians 43-10.

Xavier had possession of the ball for over 27 minutes during the contest, while the Indians had possession for over 20 minutes.

The Indians managed only 132 yards of total offense, while Xavier racked up 340 yards. 337 of those yards came on the ground.

The Indians had 32 yards rushing and 100 yards in the air.

Seth Howard had 31 yards rushing on six attempts. Casey Hill had 17 yards on seven attempts.

Cole Henry attempted 34 passes, completing 14 of them while being picked off twice. Henry finished with 95 yards in the air.

Seth Howard had two receptions for 45 yards, while Alex Chapman had four receptions for 27 yards.

Jaden Van Roekel punted the ball six times on the night, for an average of 39.2 yards.

Defensively, Tanner DeKock had 14 tackles on the night, with Nikolas Dykstra adding ten more. Blake Van Veldhuizen had nine tackles, with both Jarad Kruse and Cole Krabber each with 6. Casey Hill and Jaden Van Roekel each had three tackles.

The Indians finish the season with a 6-4 record.
