by Coach Betsy Luck

The girl’s track team headed to Bondurant on Monday night for a 9 team meet. The team came home with a 4th place finish.
The team set 9 new personal records and had 3 new season best relays (Sprint Medley Relay, 4×200 and the 4×800).
Some of the highlights from the night started early in the field events with both Faith DeRonde (1st place) and Sophia Dykstra (3rd place) improving their previous bests. Faith surpassed the “Blue Standard” (automatic qualification) for the Drake Relays with a throw of 138-9 and Sophia moved up to 13 or 14th place over all in the state, which should also qualify her for the Drake Relays.
Emma Kelderman kept her winning ways going in the 400 m hurdles setting a new personal record of 65.49 which puts her third in the state overall for all classes. She also won high jump with a jump of 5-0.

New personal records were set by:
Faith DeRonde in the discus
Emma Kelderman in the 400 hurdles
Sophia Dykstra in the discus
Brooke Allen in the 400 hurdles
Addi Carter in the 1500
Adalein Dykstra and Olivia Stodghill in the Distance Medley Relay
