Indians Fail To Claim Home Invite Title
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Indians came in 4th at their home invite this past week.
Oskaloosa Boys Golf Head Coach Bret Foster spoke about the team’s effort. “The guys competed well today at our home invite. We weren’t able to get the team title but finished 4th and within striking distance of a few teams. Spencer Tucker finished as the runner-up with a 74. Spencer and Austin Hafner both battled back from slow starts and finished well. Noah Van Veldhuizen had a career-best 18-hole round. Rian Yates played in his first high school tournament and competed well. Lucas Bunnell also shot one of his best career rounds. We still have a lot of unsatisfied players though so I know we can get better and we will.”
“The JV team finished ahead of 3 varsity teams, and I’m very happy with their scores. They battled hard, had a lot of positives and gained some great experience. We just need to work on consistency with this group, but there are plenty of things to be proud of.”
Norwalk came in 1st with a score of 315. Pella scored a 320, while Washington 323. Oskaloosa was a single stroke behind with a 324.
Spencer Tucker had a score of 70, while Austin Hafner had a 74, for the Indians.
