Indians Claim Victory In Final Regular Season Game
Oskaloosa defeated Knoxville in the final regular season match-up.
Knoxville, Iowa – In a game that started out with two called back touchdowns, one by each team, it took three quarters before a clear winner stepped forward.
“Our kids just started playing football,” says Coach Mike Sterner in regards to Oskaloosa’s play at the end of the third quarter during Friday night’s game.
He said that defensively, “The kids hung in there, and your seeing a defense that’s continuing to improve.” Sterner commented that the offense was initially having difficulty finding their groove.
“Our kids, they’re not worried about the scoreboard, they’re worried about getting better,” says Sterner.
The team faces the quick turn-around as they face Centerville on Wednesday night at Lacey Recreation Complex Stadium, starting at 7pm.
