Indians Claim Homecoming Victory
Andrew Landgrebe had 4 rushing touchdowns against Norwalk Friday night.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Finishing off a week of homecoming festivities, the Indians claimed victory over the Norwalk Warriors. “This is a true team,” Head Coach Mike Sterner said of his Indians after the game, explaining how the defense and offense compliment each other.
A few injuries have continued to nag at the team’s lineup, including Jimmy Brown. “He’s hurting,” Sterner said. “He’s probably the toughest kid I’ve ever seen, so to keep him off the football field, that takes something, and the trainers probably had to go hide his helmet, I’m guessing.”
The back and forth battle came down to the kids focusing on being their best, Sterner added. “If we go out there and focus on our best, that’s all that matters. Our kids are focused on doing their best, and when they do their best, good things are going to happen.”
The Indians are now 3-0 in conference play, after starting off the season 0-2 in non-conference play. “Pre-season really prepared us very very well for this tough district. It’s showing now.”
