Harold “Long Haul” Breuklander, Jr., 62, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, October 6, 2018. He was born October 24, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Harold and Eva Hoover Breuklander, Sr.

Harold graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1972. Following high school, he completed auto mechanic training at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.

Early on Harold worked various places including Vermeer in Pella. Most of his life he worked as an over the road truck driver. He truly enjoyed the open road and had been in nearly every one of the lower 48 states.

Harold was the State V.P. for the 2nd Brigade Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage and working on projects. In addition to his love for his family and riding motorcycles he truly enjoyed having his dog Lily by his side.

His family includes his long time companion, Kim Johnson of Oskaloosa; four sons: Josh Breuklander of Oskaloosa, Chad (& Nicole) Armbruster of Oskaloosa, Jason Breuklander of Oskaloosa, and Michael (& Arie) Nance of Tracy; nine grandchildren: Tristan, Logan, Colton, Cale, Jace, Memphis, Jade, Lola, and Miley; two brothers: Randy (& Becky) Hale of Oskaloosa and Terry (& Ethel) Breuklander of LaPlata, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; close friend, Bob Johnson of Oskaloosa; his dog, Lily; and many other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael Hale.

A time of remembrance and visitation will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa for Harold.
His family encourages you to stop by and share a story or two about Harold.
As was his wish his body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
