2:00 – 8:00 pm

The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites you to bring your family out to the Eveland Access Campgrounds to participate in FREE fall festivities on Saturday, October 21st. From 2:00 to 8:00 pm, MANY activities designed for the whole family to enjoy will be set up within the campgrounds. There will be fun contests for kids and adults. Come and show off your “best witch cackle”, “best owl call” and “best coyote call”. Costume contests are new this year! Awards will be given out to the “Most Creative”, “Most Frightening”, “Best Hand-Made” and “Most Humorous” costumes. Also, bring a decorated pumpkin to win a prize for the best decorated pumpkin! Games will be held for all ages such as Worm Pie Eating, mystery touch boxes, pumpkin checkers and Halloween Bingo. The afternoon highlights will be storytelling my Mrs. Fox and trick or treating around the campgrounds. The evening will end with the free showing of “The Haunted Mansion” (rated PG) movie at our outdoor theater – bring your lawn chair and blankets to enjoy the show. The campgrounds will be decorated for the Halloween season. MCCB will be awarding the “best decorated campsite” with a camping coupon book and other great prizes. Awards for all contests will be presented right before the showing of the movie.

If you are interested in camping at Eveland Access for the event, all campsites are available at a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for camping is $15.00 per night. MCCB encourages everyone camping that weekend to decorate their campsites and provide candy for trick-or-treaters. For more information about our park and the event, go to www.mahaskaconservation.com or Eveland Access Campgrounds on Facebook.
