Grinnell enters national rankings for 1st time
GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men’s tennis team achieved something today it had never accomplished in its storied history.
For the first time ever, the Pioneers have jumped into the NCAA Division III national rankings. Grinnell enters the rankings, compiled by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), at the No. 39 spot following a successful spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. Additionally, Grinnell is ranked 10th in the Central Region, its highest spot in that poll since the 2008-09 season.
Grinnell is 13-3 on the season after going 5-1 on spring break, including a victory over nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology. Grinnell outscored its foes 40-14 in games in Orlando.
