GRINNELL’S ROSENBERG, FOX AND WRIGHT EARN NSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-REGION MEN’S HONORS
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Mark Rosenberg ‘11 was named to the first team of the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-North/Central Region Men’s Soccer Team, while teammates Greg Fox ’12 and Evan Wright ’12 were second-team selections.
Rosenberg, a forward from Oak Park, Ill., was also named the Midwest Conference Player of the Year, was an All-Region selection, and was named to the Jewish Sports Review All-America First Team. He ranked among the league leaders in goals (10), assists (seven) and points (27). He was named a MWC Player of the Week three times in 2010 and broke the school record for assists and shots in a game when he tallied five and 15, respectively, in a victory over Eureka (Ill.).
Fox, a keeper from Leawood, Kan., had a 1.37 goals against average and .733 saves percentage while playing 1640 minutes for the Pioneers. He posted a 9-7-2 mark during the season. He was named a MWC Performer of the Week during the season.
Wright, a defender from St. Paul, Minn., helped spark a Pioneer defense that gave up less than 1.4 goals a game. He was named a MWC Performer of the Week during the season.
Grinnell went 7-2 in the MWC and qualified for the league’s postseason tournament for the fifth time in a row.
