Gordon (Tony) Whitlatch, 96, passed away on February 4, 2018 surrounded by his wife and family members. Gordon was born to Charles M. and Clara A. Whitlatch on April 4, 1921, in Attica, Iowa.

Gordon enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and retired after 20 years of service. During his Naval career, Gordon traveled around the globe several times and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor while serving aboard the U.S.S. Tennessee.

In addition to serving his country, Gordon also retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation in 1983.

Gordon was a 50 year member of the Masonic Tri-luminar Lodge. He was a joy to his 3 grandchildren and enjoyed teasing and playing with his eight great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Gordon is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Norma, whom he has been married to for 70 plus years; his daughter, Marlys (& Jim) Blanchard; and son, Dennis (& Cathy) Whitlatch; 3 grandchildren: Laura (& Dennis) Freeman, Kathy (& John) Payne, and Anthony Whitlatch; 8 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
