Students, golfers and Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club members enjoyed a successful day at Osky Golf, raising $12,750 to benefit the activities of Oskaloosa students.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Like ants leaving the nest, a large string of golf carts took off from the staging area at Osky Golf on Saturday. Those golfers were there to support the Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club and all the projects that impact young people’s lives.

Twenty-seven golf teams raced off to the course to find many different activities along the way. Modifiers at the green included speed golf, bowling, and baseball toss.

Many of the sports teams that benefit from the booster club were at various holes with their games to modify where a golfer would tee off from at the hole.

Now in its 7th year, the golf outing is the group’s largest fundraiser of the year, and Wendy Van Roekel, Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club President, said the hope was to raise $10,000 to benefit the many activities provided at the school. Those dollars are raised from hole sponsors, donations, and golf team registrations.

Memberships and coupon book blitz also make up the balance of the funds raised by the club. Signing up for membership in the booster club can be done at home football games, speaking with club board members, and shortly a website that will allow online signup.

Van Roekel said that $12,750 was raised during Saturday’s golf outing. Until their website goes online, you can reach the group through their Facebook Page – HERE.
