George Named Third-Team All-Canadian Honoree

Oskaloosa–Nick George (Sr., Sarnia, Ontario, Sociology and Human services) has been selected to be on the 24th Annual Canadian Baseball Network’s all-Canadian team.

George was selected to the third team as a designated hitter. He was one of three NAIA players named to the third team, while one was on the first squad and three more were voted onto the second team.

A total of 1,003 Canadians played baseball in the NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA during the 2023 season.

During his junior season, George owned a batting average of .438 (64-for-146) with 13 doubles, one triple, and two home runs. He also brought home 43 RBIs and 39 runs scored, while also drawing 25 walks. The now-senior was also struck by 11 pitches during the season. Also a pitcher, George competed in 13 games (12 starts), with a record of 3-6 and an Earned Run Average of 4.53 in 57 2/3 innings.

Brady Cerkownyk of Connors State CC was named the CBN’s College Player of the Year.

The teams were chosen by a panel of 53 baseball experts, including scouts, coaches, executives, former players, and baseball writers from Canada and the U.S.
