Scene at a Friday Accident that sent 4 people to the hospital

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A Friday accident sent 4 members of a family to Mahaska Health Partnership.

Diane Breman of Rose Hill was stopped along Highway 92 during road construction on Friday at 11:50 a.m.

Breman was waiting for the pilot car to return so they could continue West from the Maskunky Marsh area or about 4.9 miles East of Oskaloosa, when the 1997 Dodge Neon she was driving was struck in the rear.

Christopher Bartmann of Washington, Iowa was traveling West along Highway 92. According to the report by the Iowa State Patrol, Bartmann was traveling too closely and failed to stop in a safe and assured clear distance ahead, and struck the vehicle driven by Breman.

All four in the Breman vehicle were transported to Mahaska Health Partnership, Diane and 3 others aged 17, 13 and 10 years of age.

Assisting the Iowa State Patrol on the scene was the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Cedar Township Fire, Fremont Ambulance, and Mahaska Health Partnership Ambulance.

Bartmann was charged with Following too Closely, and the conditions of the 4 taken to MHP is unknown.
