PELLA — The American Rivers Conference released its all-conference wrestling awards Friday and four Central College wrestling athletes received accolades.

All-conference honors were handed out to the top-three finishers amongst league competitors at the NCAA Division III Central Regional meet that took place on February 23-24. In addition to the nine teams from the American Rivers Conference, the regional meet featured eight other programs.

At 125 pounds, Cam Timok (senior, Glen Allen, Va., Hermitage HS) was the meet champion and thus the top conference finisher. Chase Petty (senior, Pella) placed third in the regional and took the final all-conference slot.

Daniel Radcliffe (junior, Lockport, Ill., Lockport Township HS) was fourth overall but third in the conference at 141 pounds. Freshman Rob Areyano (Selma, Calif.) placed fifth at the regional meet at 149 pounds but still was the third best conference finisher.

A three-way tie for Most Valuable Player included Clint Lembeck (Loras College, 141 pounds), Cross Cannone (Wartburg College, 157 pounds) and Kyle Briggs (Wartburg, 174 pounds). TJ Miller of Loras was given coach of the year and Wartburg’s Brady Fritz (141 pounds) was named the Freshman of the Year.

Timok and Petty both competed in the NCAA Division III Championships. Timok earned All-American status after placing sixth.
