Food Truck Frenzy on the new Market Street bridge Saturday
Thunder Country KIIC and Fox15 present the first annual Food Truck Frenzy on the new Market Street bridge Saturday October 15th from 4 to 11pm in downtown Ottumwa.
Joe Milledge, owner of KIIC says they looked for a fun event to replace the popular ‘BaconTown’ event. “When we found out we had to postpone BaconTown till 2017, we decided to replace it with another fun event that celebrates the official opening of the new bridge, and gives folks a great location to come out and have dinner out above the Des Moines River!”
The event will also feature live music from the street stage from Tony Blew (blues) from 5-7, and ‘Time Will Tell’ – a rock band from Des Moines – will play from 7-11. Milledge added; “For the first time ever, close proximity fireworks will be shot from the hydro dam over the river at 9pm. The show will be particularly special because these fireworks are similar to what you would see at a stadium or concert with an up close and personal experience. Shooting them right over the river will add an extra dimension.”
Milledge added that Bridgeview Center will provide a beer garden and Community 1st Credit Union is hosting their Skatefest Extravaganza beginning at 4pm. This is a competition and exhibition for those who want to compete for prizes on ‘Street course’ and ‘best trick’. For those who don’t want to compete, there are demonstrations from Division BMX.
