“Flushing” Out Cancer Comes To A Lawn Near You
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Relay for Life is just around the corner, and teams are now implementing creative ways to raise money.
Team SMAC has devised a unique fundraiser to help them attain their goal. A purple toilet gets displayed in a yard with a sign that says “Flush Away Cancer.” The yard owner then pays to have the toilet removed. If they have a best “friend” they can pay a little more to have it moved to their friend’s yard next.
In order to get the toilet removed, it will cost ya $10 bucks, but if you want to send to a “friend”, that’s $25. Of course, as in most things, there is an insurance policy that guarantees that the toilet will not return to your yard, that will run ya $50.
“We are starting this fundraiser tonight with the Mayor, in his yard,” said Team SMAC captain Noelle Bolibaugh. It didn’t take long for the purple commode to find a new home, at a “friends” house down the street.
The Mahaska County Relay for Life will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM inside the PAC on the William Penn Campus.
