First Degree Robbery Charges Filed Against What Cheer Man

Oskaloosa, Iowa – First Degree Robbery and Third Degree Burglary charges have been filed against David Allen Coe Taylor of What Cheer in connection with an incident at a rural Mahaska County residence on April 18th.

According to affidavit’s filed by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, the above named individual is accused of stealing rolls of wire and scrap metal from the rural residence.

Deputy Trevor Wells had been dispatched to the call, and in his affidavit alleges, On the above date time and location I was dispatched to the above location in reference to a burglary in progress. The victim was going to stand by and wait by the vehicle until I could arrive on scene. While I was enroute a male subject (later identified as David Taylor, the above defendant) came out to his wife’s registered vehicle and attempted to leave. David did steal several rolls of wire and scrap metal from this property. When David did finally leave he did so by dragging the victim with the car he was driving approximately 75 yards down the gravel road causing several injuries, causing him to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. These injuries include, but are not limited to, knee injuries as well as head and scrapes.

A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
