Iowa State Patrol Squad Car

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A three vehicle accident just west of the 169 mile marker (East of Harvey) on Highway 92 resulted in the death of a Williamsburg man. The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. According to the Iowa State Patrol preliminary accident report, 47 year old Doreen Agan of Oskaloosa was traveling West in her 2001 Dodge Durango when it crossed the center line striking a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle being driven by 32 year old Benjamin Coffman of Williamsburg.

Coffman and a fellow rider, 70 year old Philip Jones also of Williamsburg, were traveling East on Highway 92. Jones swerved to avoid the Durango driven by Agan. The motorcycle driven by Jones ended up in the South ditch, after the Harley-Davidson, driven by Coffman, was struck. The Harley-Davidson came to rest in the West bound travel portion of Highway 92 with the Durango driven by Agan also ending up in the South ditch of Highway 92.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Mahaska Health Partnership, and Clay Township Fire.

The investigation into the accident continues.
