Farm Accident Claims Life Of Mahaska County Man
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Oskaloosa Fire and Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services responded to a call in the 2700 block of 265th street in Mahaska County around 6 pm on August 7th, 2013.
Mahaska County authorities report that Willis Groenendyk, age 80, was the victim of a farming accident.
A neighbor had called 911 reporting that he could see the roof of a barn laying on the top of a male. When emergency workers arrived, they quickly determined the structure was a wooden cattle feeder that was laying on top of the male.
Authorities said it appeared that the male was working under the feeder when it collapsed on him.
